Frequently Asked Questions

Where does tuition take place?

Tuition takes place at a variety of locations in the community. Some groups meet at our tutors’ homes, other lessons are held in the homes of our students, and some classes take place in commercial locations such as community centres.

In all cases, the locations for tuition are well vetted for safety and suitability.

How are individual needs met?

Our tutors are used to working with groups and providing content that supports the development of each student.

If there is any uncertainty about how best to cater for a child’s needs, our tutors will recommend and undertake assessment to identify the best way to help them.

We use a combination of assessments approved by the Ministry of Education as well as assessment developed by us to fully meet the needs of our students.

What if my child misses a lesson?

Occasionally, due to sickness and other unforeseen events, a child may not make it to a lesson. Because our student/price ratios require a set number of students to maintain a financially viable business model, we are unable to credit missed group lessons.

However, one on one lessons can be cancelled or rescheduled without penalty as long as this is done at least an hour before the lesson is due to take place. Missed lessons will be payable where insufficient notice is provided. If lessons have been paid for but cancelled before the cutoff time, they will be credited to your account to be used at a later stage.

Who are the tutors?

The tutors we use are all experienced educators. Some are retired teachers and others are currently employed teachers. They are all well qualified.

Can I make my own group?

Children enjoy learning with their friends, who often have similar needs. A great way to use our services is to discuss grouping within your social circles and make your own group.

For example, Alex and three of his friends are homeschooled. Their parents all agreed that extra tuition in Maths would benefit the boys. Alex’s parents were happy for the group to meet twice a week at their house, so when they contacted us, all we had to do was provide a tutor. The other details had already been organised by the parents, which was a win-win for everyone involved.

What are your operating hours?

Our operating hours vary depending on the area, but generally, we operate between the hours of 9am and 6pm Monday to Saturday. Some of our tutors may have availability in the evenings, so get in touch if you want to know more.

We do not operate on public holidays.
